Fees FAQ
How do payments work?
After consultation about lesson length and frequency, invoices will be sent out at the beginning of each term (four terms per year). Payment can be made by bank transfer.
What happens if you cannot make a lesson?
I understand that plans can change and that sometimes students cannot attend a scheduled lesson. If you can give me at least 24 hours’ notice I will always do my best and try to accommodate this by rescheduling lessons, when possible.
Are music books included in the fees?
This depends entirely on what you want to play! While standard lesson books and copyrighted music (like pop songs) will need to be purchased by the student, I am happy to provide many appropriate pieces and supplementary exercises free of charge.
Do you offer trial lessons?
Yes! It is very important that the student and teacher are a good fit. Please contact me to arrange an initial consultation lesson.
What if I start partway through a term?
If you start lessons mid-term, the fee will be adjusted so you only pay for the remaining lessons in that term.
Do you offer pay-as-you-go lessons?
Regular termly payments help ensure consistent progress and secure your time slot, so lessons are normally booked per term. However, occasional single lessons can sometimes be arranged — please enquire.
Are online lessons the same price as in-person?
Yes, online and in-person lessons are charged at the same rate. Both include the same level of individual attention and feedback.
Do lessons run during school holidays?
Lessons usually follow the standard academic terms, but holiday lessons can be arranged if the student wishes to continue. Some students find that lessons during quieter holiday periods are a great way to make faster progress or prepare for exams.
What happens if I (the teacher) are unavailable?
If I need to cancel a lesson for any reason, I will always offer to reschedule at a convenient time. If it isn’t possible to rearrange, that lesson will be fully refunded.
